SERVICES TO YOUTH FACET
The goal of the Services To Youth Facet is to provide integrated programming as a template for academic, career, and personal development in the global society. National initiatives included in the program template are: Closing the Achievement Gap, Health and Wellness, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM)), K-16 Mentoring, and Partnerships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
STEAM ACADEMY
The Montgomery (AL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has established the STEAM Academy as an integrated program in order to cultivate youth interest in STEAM majors and careers. As an integrated program, the Services to Youth Facet complements its programmatic goals with the assistance of activities planned in The Arts, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services, and Health and Human Services. The chapter holds the distinction of being the first Links chapter to establish a NSBE Jr. Chapter. The NSBE Jr. Chapter is the result of a partnership established by The Links, Incorporated with the National Society of Black Engineers. Toolkits, collaboratives with career professionals in the STEAM Industry, and field experiences are scheduled in order to provide exploratory experiences for youth.
